Kumkum Bhagya actress Leena Jumani in a candid INTERVIEW with SpotboyE.com, explains why how the 20-year leap is compelling her to quit
Leena Jumani aka Tanu of Ekta Kapoor's Kumkum Bhagya made headlines on tuesday morning when she confirmed with Tellychakkar.com that she will no longer be a part of the show. We spoke to her about her decision.
Excerpts from the conversation that followed:
So, are you quitting Kumkum Bhagya?
Well, I have informed Balaji about my decision. They haven't got back yet to me.
What if your role in the 20-year leap is meatier?
Well, that I don't know because as I said, they haven't yet got back to me. But still, I would leave.
Why?
I don't want to play a 51-year old woman, for now at least. I am not saying what I will do after 2-3 years in my career. But for now, I don't feel from within that I should age by 20 years in the show. I guess, I am already 30-31 in the show now. FYI, I was earler shown as 22-23 and I did the 7-year leap without any fuss, lekin ab iske aage nahin please.

Aren't you attached to the show, having done it for so long?
Well, I can always come on the sets and meet my friends whenever I want. I won't leave on a bad note. So of course, I am attached. But I have been asked to do something jiske liye mera mann nahin maan raha. I wouldn't have left if things hadn't changed. This is the only reason why I have decided to leave.
